A recognised insurance law professional specialising exclusively in insurance law, his practice focuses on:
- Contractual advice in insurance law and risk management;
- Defence of insured companies in the event of claims, particularly in the fields of health and benefits insurance;
- Advice to insurance distribution companies.
With dual experience as an insurance lawyer and insurance broker, Jérôme Goy is one of the few insurance law professionals to act exclusively in the interests of insured companies, rather than insurance companies.
He advises and represents clients both in advisory matters and in litigation (before courts and in arbitration), including in matters relating to health and benefits insurance, acting in the interests of insured parties.
He has obtained numerous court decisions in favour of coverage for companies (Promod, Districash, Jennyfer, Groupe Le Duff, Kookai, Ginger) against major insurers (XL Insurance Company, ABEILLE IARD & SANTE, MS Amlin Insurance SE, AXERIA IARD, Allianz, Zürich Insurance PLC), as well as in matters relating to health and benefits insurance.
He acts as an assistant to the project owner (AMO) for numerous insurance tenders for both public and private companies.
He assists insurance distribution players in setting up insurance product distribution channels, as well as in reviewing coverage terms and conditions and transactions involving the transfer or merger of insurance intermediaries.
He also acts as an expert before commercial courts, for example in the context of insolvency proceedings.
He regularly publishes articles in insurance law journals (Tribune de l’Assurance, the legal section of L’Argus de l’Assurance, etc.), particularly on issues relating to:
- Coverage of corporate claims (fires, natural disasters, Covid-19, business interruption, riots, etc.);
- Drafting of insurance contracts (cyber insurance, AIG clauses);
- Insurance market practices (MGAs, Captives, tenders, third-party litigation funding).
He also provides training to numerous insurance company executives through AMRAE (Association pour le Management des Risques et des Assurances de l’Entreprise).
Jérôme Goy is currently a member of:
- AIDA (International Association of Insurance Law);
- AMRAE;
- Finance Innovation;
- InsurancePartners.
He was Delegate for Regulated Professions to the President of the Paris Bar in 2016 and an active member of EDC (Entrepreneurs et Dirigeants Chrétiens).
Jérôme Goy holds a degree from Sciences Po Paris (Economics & Finance) and a Master’s degree in Business Law from Paris X.
Jérôme Goy spent twelve years at Aon, a US insurance brokerage firm, where he successively served as Managing Director of Aon France (2008–2013) and Chief Operating Officer Europe for the Professional Services division (2010–2013).
He practised as a lawyer in the insurance department of Paul Hastings (2004–2007), before becoming a partner at Enthémis law firm in 2019.
